Women's Fashion Ponchos Get Sexy This Summer

Ponchos have come down from the high plains and back into high fashion on to the catwalks this season.

Women's fashion ponchos featured strongly on the catwalks this season.

Gone are the heavy, horse-blanket style ponchos of yesteryear, replaced by delicate fabrics and sexy styles that complement every body. Fashion ponchos hide a multitude of sins.

Whether you choose silky, sheer and sexy, or embroidered ethnic style, the poncho can be adapted for all sizes and all occasions.

Your fashion poncho can be thrown over a pair of jeans for a chic, casual look, or dress it up with a glittery brooch over your favorite little black dress for night time style.

The hot fashion trend straight from the catwalk was the shabby-chic boho-style fashion poncho, ornamented with embroidery, beads and sparkles. Or the casually elegant cashmere poncho, perfect with your favorite jeans.

Ponchos also come short and long this season. The chic little shrug-style poncho clasped or tied on the shoulder in soft knits and delicate lace was featured by many European designers for spring/summer. Also featured were longer, asymmetrical fashion ponchos in a rainbow-bright display of colors and patterns.

Whatever your look for this summer, there is a women's fashion poncho to suit.

your must have item on a rainy day

1. Be prepared for every imaginable incident with a stand umbrella including brolly with cover:

At this time of the year, we are forced to carry umbrellas everyday to seek shelter from those damn sudden showers. But how to spontaneously react if a granny trips over in a puddle right in front of you? Oh no! Your hands are full with a bag in your right and an umbrella in your left hand, so that trying to help the granny up might end up poking the person behind instead! Awkward situation, indeed. Enter the Stand Umbrella – a self-supporting umbrella from the design company that comes in handy! This stylish and lightweight umbrella can stand on its own on any flat surface. How practical, how asia.

Also, in asia, you find plastic umbrella covers at every shop, every building entrance to prevent floors from getting slippery. Unfortunately, they are disposables to be thrown away in no time. Bad! You certainly don’t want to end up flat on the floor - but as a respectable adult, environmental issues shouldn’t be ignored either. Take a closer look then at the Etiquette Jump Umbrella: an umbrella with a telescopic plastic cover by rain expert This parasol specialist has been in business for more than 50 years and definitely knows how to handle heavy rain falls.

2. Fancy wardrobe: rain coats and rain boots!

You might be the kind of person who’s just as happy with rainy days – as long as the outside situation doesn’t affect your style habits and you can dress up still hip enough . First, the standard rain coats and rain boots might be a good start. And as a fashion conscious person, you might have already checked out the popular ones from Emilio Pucci, also Kate Moss’ favourite rain shoes.

3. Rainy day survival guide

~Clothing Tips~

  • Get back into your dungarees matched with funky bright T-shirts either in floral prints or in pastels.
  • You should consider the dampness that will continue for days during the season, it is preferrably avoid thick clothing material like denims, cords, or thick cottons and mixes.
  • Switch to chiffons and other lighter fabrics that take lesser time to dry so if you are out in the rain and get drenched, you will not have to sit and shrink until you are dry.
  • Knee-length dresses that are not too sticky but fit well to your body, or capris, skirts, cotton leggies teamed with short or hip-length tops depending on the body structure shall make the perfect wear for a day out on the rains.
  • Mixed Denim pants that can be conveniently folded and take lesser time to dry, matched with cool cotton t-shirts or casual shirts in pastels or prints too make great monsoon wears.
  • For an evening or a party wear during the monsoons, go for Lycra chic shirts and pants or even Lycra business suits that are easy to wash too.
  • Avoid wearing layered dresses in the rainy seasons as they only add to the muddle.

Make-up Tips for the Rainy Days.

The trick is to keep it minimum and to have it light

  • Use only waterproof products for the season so that the rains do not mess up your face.
  • Pastel colors are best for the season, as they give a refreshing look and also add some drama to the face.
  • Use waterproof eyeliners, mascaras and lipsticks that stay longer. Matte finish suits best on rainy days; as it does not make the face look oily and sticky during the monsoons.
  • Keeping your skin clean and clear should be the mantra for all seasons though, but the monsoons demand a little extra care, as there is already a lot of moisture in the air that tends to dampen the skin. Clean your skin regularly with a good cleanser followed by a toning and moisturizing process suitable to your skin type. Wash your face repeatedly to avoid accumulation of dirt, germs or oil on your face.
  • For your hair, it is best to keep a hustle free hairstyle for the rainy seasons so that your hair does not mess in the rains. Wash your hair daily with a good mild shampoo to keep your scalp clean all the time. Use of conditioners should be limited for the monsoon days, as conditioners tend to limp your hair.

What To Wear Coat.

"Today" fashion expert and host of TLC's "What Not To Wear", Stacy London quote a lot of useful and practical tips on how to find some perfect coat that doesn't sacrifice the comfy.
  • Choose a coat based on your style. People consider a coat to be a throw-away item, in the sense that it is only about use-value and that you don't have it on for very long. But when considering your options, look for coats that compliment the style you have created for yourself.
  • Buy neutral colors before brights. Again, when investing in a coat, start off with a great neutral, which does not have to be black. Try the softer neutrals like gray, brown, navy, and camel. Save the fire engine red coat as your second coat purchase. Again, when investing in a coat, start off with a great neutral, which does not have to be black. Try the softer neutrals like gray, brown, navy, and camel. Save the fire engine red coat as your second coat purchase.
  • Remember to leave some room! When buying a mid-weight coat, remember that while it may feel warm by itself in October, come January you will layer long undies, lots of knitwear, (even fitted jackets!) under that thing! So give yourself some wiggle room to layer. Not oodles, but if your coat "just" fits in the shoulder, sleeve and hip, go up a size.

Hot Fashion Tips On Hot Fashion Bags 2008

Big is in

With gadgets getting smaller it’s interesting that the hottest trend in handbags is “the bigger the better.” Is it our mobile lifestyles-the need to have essentials (i.e., emergency sewing kit, makeup bag, mouthwash, Blackberry, personal hygiene items, cell phones, etc.) within reach at all times? Or, maybe we just want roomier bags (it’s always nice knowing that if you need the space, it’s there). Whatever the reason, handbags are as big as Texas. Oversized totes, hobo bags and Jackie O bucket and shoulder bags provide enough choices to accommodate business, casual and a night on the town.

“The hottest handbags are big, bigger, biggest,” said Susan Sommer, former fashion editor turned fashion and business etiquette coach and founder of Dresszing, a wardrobing and visual communications company “Think oversized. Get to your essentials-wallet, keys, phone, compact and lipgloss-quickly by putting them in a small zippered case tucked inside”.

Mary Jo Matsumoto, whose bags have appeared on the arm of A-list stars, chimed in on the big bag phenomenon. “One of the biggest upcoming trends for bags is big, roomy, and black sack-like bags like the ones that Chanel put out this season. Also, oversized doctor’s bags are a trend as seen in the Marc Jacobs collection for Louis Vuitton”.

Okay, so we get that bags are big. What else is influencing top designers? Fortunately there is a lot of carryover from past seasons-so that metallic gold bag you got last year is back for a repeat performance. Neutral colors are always a safe bet, but with flashier twists, such as patent leather, you can have some fun too.

“The 80s influence are back again in the world of fashion,” said Barbara Glass, Image & Wardrobe Consultant, Fashion Editor, and TV Fashion Reporter. “The spring and summer seasons kicked off with oversized straw and colorful canvas totes and the double-strapped pocketed schoolbag look in patent leather to hold your most basic essentials or flip-flops for when those wedge skyscrapers create pain with no relief.”

When going out on the town, styles shift away from the gargantuan daytime bags. “For evening, try to simplify your life with one of the new mini bags, clutches or wristlets and find a deserving guy to carry wherever else it can’t hold,” Glass said. “Lipgloss, keys, breath mints and cab fare should be do the trick. Look for patent leather to be an important fabric in handbags and shoes for fall and winter. It’s practical and has a retro influence”.

Handbag designer Rebecca Ciccio says stick to the basics for a classic, sophisticated look. “For the fall, earthy colors like chocolate brown and camel are perfect, but black is definitely making a comeback.” Metallics are still in favor with designers and consumers, so spice up that black dress or clinging cashmere v-neck with a metallic bag or clutch. “Metallics will show up for fall into holiday, in dark golds, bronze, and taupe, as well as some accent colors like plum and winter white. For play, a clutch in a fun and exotic material”.

Matsumoto echoes Ciccio with her prediction about bold metallics and earth tones. “Another big trend that will be emerging as we move quickly from fall to Resort (that season started in November) is tons of silver and gunmetal, especially in day bags,” she said. “Plus surprisingly, gray will be emerging as a major color in accessories.”

9-5 It’s a way to make a living

Listen up working girls. Women’s business accessories are no longer dull and drab. With colors and designer details, you can make a style statement with your workbag.

“For work, large bags are still as strong as ever,” Ciccio said. “There are many women in the work force who want to have a bag that will fit everything from their wallet and make-up case, to magazines or even a lap top. However, make sure the bags is not too big and over trendy.”

Believe it or not, the shelves are lined with colorful bags bearing crocodile prints or leather trimmed tweeds with gorgeous brushed silver hardware, all shaped into the season’s must-have accessories. We’re not talking about a women’s specialty boutique - this is Staples.

Forget the unisex laptop bag - business women now have new choices that go well beyond the basic. Accessories are evolving new styles, finishes, color and fittings to match the best-dressed businesswoman.

Targus offers a pair of stylish business totes, each roomy enough to accommodate a laptop, plus cell phone, business cards and essential papers. The Quilted Messenger Bag shows the softer side of business. The satiny black nylon is criss-crossed with bright magenta stitching with a matching magenta lining. The bag is padded and has plenty of pockets for pens and accessories.

Buxton’s Kelly Bag wraps practicality into a leather tote with a clean style. The Kelly Bag features a center zip pocket, a full-zippered main compartment, and a fully padded laptop section. Expandable utility loops, card and cell pockets give the Kelly bag plenty of carrying power. Available in red, dark brown and black.

Is your handbag still in style?

a big secret about mangga dua

Percaya ga ???

Yves Saint Laurent Belle de Jour Wristlet Clutch

Lindsay Lohan Style: Yves Saint Laurent Belle de Jour Wristlet Clutch
Lindsay Lohan was spotted by the paparazzi while recently hanging out with Courtenay Semel (daughter of former Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel) in Los Angeles. Pictured above, Lindz and new bff Court ar
e leaving Bristol Farms Grocery. Wrapped around Lindsay’s arm is the perfect no-fuss bag for the shopping occasion, the Yves Saint Laurent Belle de Jour Wristlet Clutch. I love it. How many times have you juggled to hold your coffee in one hand and tried to push the cart and grab stuff in the other, while you fidget to hold your shoulder bag in place and from sliding down? For some reason every time I go to the grocery store, out of habit I grab a mid-day coffee fix.

The Yves Saint Laurent Belle de Jour is light and just the right size for your small wallet, phone, lipgloss, etc. Just wrap it around your arm and forget about it.

Paris Hilton with Hype Costa Del Sol Bag

Paris Hilton with Hype Costa Del Sol Bag
It’s rare to see Paris Hilton out and about sporting a bag not designed by the heiress, which lately has been her everyday signature piece. The bag above is actually by moderately inexpensive brand Hype, it’s called the Costa Del Sol bag.

I really like the frame-style and the double strap option (shoulder vs arm). Plus the ample interior space amazingly measures in at 14” at widest x 10.5” tall at center x 6” deep.

I found the same bag Paris is pictured with on sale at Bluefly for 40% off retail, leaving it marked down to a simple $177. Only difference between the two is you will have to live without the silver hardware (focal buckle), the bag at Bluefly is only available with dark pewter hardware. But is that worth ignoring on such a great deal?

Nicky Hilton & Her Magenta Balenciaga City

Nicky Hilton & Her Magenta Balenciaga City
It’s no secret that celebrities love Balenciaga, especially the Motorcycle collection. And ever since they made their debut, these bags apparently haven’t lost their “It” label. Though every season does present ‘hot’ colors which are extremely popular and desired by many, including myself. Shown above is Nicky Hilton carrying the City bag in one of this season’s hottest colors, the magenta.

The magenta is so delicious looking, feminine and perfect for the upcoming seasons all in one. This along with Bal’s Electric Blue are my two favs. And I especially adore the city as it holds a nice shape and the size is just perfect for carrying everything you need. What also appeals to me (though this is nothing new) is the wonderful shoulder strap. I love how you can carry it on your arm or throw it over your shoulder to be hands-free.

The City features amazing distressed leather, making each and every one unique, a detachable strap, and hardware that comes in either regular size or giant size. Also included is an attached mirror and featured on the inside and exterior are zippered pockets. The measurements for this bag are 12.5″x 11″x 4″, providing a spacious interior.

As a matter of fact, this trend of the 50s comeback has already started before 2008, so you are at least a bit familiar with the concept. Such items as high heeled pumps, slim skirts, large belts, and loose blouses with puffy collars and sleeves appear to be becoming all the rage once again. It appears that the days of butts hanging out of low-rise jeans are ending and a more sophisticated look is returning to the mainstream.

Here are some of the latest staples of your wardrobe should be: * A slim skirt * A wide belt * A great fitting pair of slacks * A fitted jacket * Shaped t-shirts * Wrap blouses and dresses * Metallic accents including grey metals and gold * Denim items

The colors that are dominant for the style for 2008's spring and summer are the grey, black, red, white plus yellow. This color is a problematic color that does not suit with everything, so it must be worn with great care. Use these colors to add to your classic wardrobe in unique ways. However, next year, dare to wear yellow and see how it looks.

The accessories must match also the outfit. The oversized bags are still in style, while the super huge earrings and necklaces will compliment the overall clothing. The jewels may be made of plastic or more natural materials such as wood or even clay. These can be ethno influenced and create a great effect on the entire apparel, making the body look small and giving an interesting perspective.

So, are you ready for spring and the summer of 2008? Get your wardrobe ready for this year's style and buy some great new trendy apparel online or in the stores that you usually visit. As a matter of fact, this trend of the 50s comeback has already started before 2008, so you are at least a bit familiar with the concept.

First things first: the spring summer fashion for 2008 will contain a lot of interesting models that clearly reminds us of the 50s. Baggy dresses below the knee for day wear or vaporous dresses for evening that will make the fashion in 2008. The trousers will be in fashion as well, and mini trousers may be worn as well. Capri trousers are still in style and may be worn with extra large sweaters. However, there is a trend that will mix styles, so sporty style will mix with the chic and there will be an ethno mix, which will result in some interesting combinations. The urban style will thus be a functional wardrobe with sporty details. This highly unlikely combination that comes as a surprise is like a breathe of fresh air.

Runway Fashion Trends for 2008 Inspiration for Women's Fashion - Spring 2008

Colors are brighter, reflecting the true concept of spring and dresses are more prevalent this season, with a real mix of sophistication, a hint of '80s retro and long-floaty maxis reminiscent of the '60s and '70s. New York Fashion Week, 5-12 September 2007, revealed some exciting and inspirational designs for Spring 2008.

Leading fashion magazine Elle features "10 trends from New York Fashion Week" in its online edition. Designers such as Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Vera Wang and Oscar de La Renta showcase their creations, in the Elle image gallery.

Whilst most westerners are unwrapping their Christmas presents at this time of year, the fashion world is two steps ahead. For fashion-conscious women, once the Christmas decorations are packed away, it will be time to think about next season's high-street trends influenced by designer fashion.
Styles and Fabrics

* Think floaty and feminine, with ruffles, lace, pleats draping cuts and transparent fabrics. According to the Daily Mail's article, of 28th December 2007, "Vogue's 2008 Hotlist Revealed", "The ruff is the fashion detail of the season".
* Light airy dresses, be they maxi or mini – the maxi dress continues its comeback given its versatility and popularity from last year.
* The maxi dress makes a real statement this season in classy and casual styles. Flowing, drapes with pleats and ruffles and one-shoulder necklines.
* Light, airy long-dresses and long, flowing skirts, comfortable and easy to wear.
* References to ancient Greece in sophisticated drapes and pleats such as Donna Karan’s Shades of Gres, an elegant silver-gray, halter-neck maxi with intricate pleats, folds and draping.
* Desert-inspired maxis and safari trouser or shorts-suits in two of Pantone’s top ten spring colors, Golden Olive and Croissant..
* Colour-blocked dresses continue to be a popular trend with two or three colors.
* Asymmetry is a keynote style seen in many of next season’s dresses and soon to be released summer swimwear.
* Two-sleeved styles are given the cold-shoulder by many designers. Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler and J Mendel in favor of an off-the-shoulder look.
* Trouser suits follow the feminine, floaty theme with Asian fisherman style pants (Phillip Lim) and elegant flowing trousers. Some are influenced by the African safari, like Diane Von Furstenberg’s classic white ensemble.
* Transparency features heavily in many designer fabrics. Rodart’s delicate blue hues and Cloud Cover ruffle creation is floaty and feminine. J Mendels flowing silver grey one-shoulder drape enthuses elegance.
* Belts are everywhere, drawing attention to the waist.
* Accessorize with headscarves and hippie chick headbands. Safaris style white hats match the desert inspired look and large totes and oversized bags make a big fashion statement.

Colors

* Silver grey is the new black combined with muted neutrals and flesh tones.
* The Pantone Color Report for Spring 2008 demonstrates a long-awaited match of true Spring colors with Freesia (yellow), Spring Crocus (lilac hues) and pink undertones Pink Mist, Cantaloupe and Rococco Red.
* Red-hot color features heavily in Oscar De La Renta gowns, Zac Posen’s ruffle maxi, and the Marc Jacobs Lady in Red, belted shift. Ohne Titel’s flappy, flowing trouser suit enthuses energy and cheerfulness in its invigorating red.
* Greys and color-blocks are a season must-have to flatter the figure.

Prints

* Tropical flavors, big and bold as in Caronlena Herrara’s ruffle maxi or Diane von Furstenberg’s flowing green-floral print.
* Tribal Prints make a big comeback. Blacks and tans, as in Diane von Furstenberg’s strappy tunic dress or Oscar De La Renta’s Tribal puff ball mini. A few leopard prints are thrown in for good measure, following the tribal and jungle theme.

Along with next season’s long, floaty dresses, flowing fabrics and draping cuts these feminine creations should be taken-to-the-max with long hair, tousled and wind blown.
